Because of their appearance, locks can symbolize the roots of the person, their spirituality, and their link with Jah (God). Dreadlocks can also be seen as a symbol of the Lion of Judah (Jesus Christ/Christians, King of Ethiopia, Haile Selassie I/Rastafarians.
But even though for many dreadlocks are an expression of faith or spirituality, many others just like the carefree, natural style.
